THRIVE Participant Perspective: DiveRVA
Our Fourth Cohort of THRIVE: An Accelerator for Social Good, facilitated with our partners at The Spark Mill, began in early September. Each week, we'll bring you the perspective of a participating nonprofit and share a little about their organization.
About Beyond Boundaries:
Dive RVA, is driven by a single goal, to build inclusive and successful diving programs to promote fitness and character development through competitive and recreational springboard and platform diving in the Richmond area.

What are you hoping to get out of this program?
DiveRVA hopes to develop a clear organizational structure and implementation strategy for our mission. We hope to build relationships through networking and gain valuable knowledge by working with mentors from the Spark Mill.
What did you learn or feel spoke to you about today?
The stakeholder mapping exercise was very valuable. We feel we have a better understanding about how to individually address different stakeholders.
Our mentor did a wonderful job keeping us on track and helping us to clarify our core message.
Tell us about your experience in the program.
It has been very rewarding and a wonderful learning experience. It has brought value to our organization by bringing together a group of unique individuals committed to the mission of DiveRVA. We have been able to share ideas, redefine our thought processes and work towards fulfilling our goals.
How do you see this applying to your organization?
THRIVE has changed our thought process and our approach to problems and challenges going forward. This has helped us become more succinct and process oriented. The accelerator is providing a larger audience for us to share our story and increase our reach.

The THRIVE accelerator program provides an opportunity for nonprofits to look beyond current challenges and obstacles and plan out a direct and streamlined path forward. Organizations will tackle a specific hurdle they want to clear to get to the next level of impact with the community and will spend concentrated time with staff and board planning and executing real-time solutions with guided facilitation. We will utilize accelerator techniques to build a cohort-responsive program.
