About the USPA Volleyball Team
Mission and Goals
The mission of USPA Volleyball is to provide young athletes with affordable opportunities that will help them achieve excellence in volleyball through advanced physical training and education in the sport. USPA Volleyabll is committed to helping all club participants gain a sense of accomplishment, pride, and confidence to pursue their volleyball aspirations.
Playing for USPA Volleyball
Becoming a player on a USPA Volleyball team is a privilege. Players are selected because of their athletic ability, positive attitudes, work ethic and willingness to play the game. Being part of a USPA Volleyball team teaches more than how to play great volleyball; it teaches many life lessons about being a good person, commitment and doing the right thing.
There are five possible Elite level teams (U14 - U18) with up to 14 players per team. There will not be more than a 3 year spread in ages on each team. The club season typically begins after Thanksgiving and runs through May. A decision will be made about half way through the season about whether the team will participate in a National tournament in June or not. Practices are held at a minimum of 3 days per week for 2 to 4 hours depending on the age group. Players are furnished with shoes, jerseys, spandex, knee pads, sweat pants, sweatshirts, and practice T-shirts. Players may or may not play in the same position they have played in school or on past teams. Coaches will place each player in the position that will be best suited for the current team the player is on. Playing time is not guaranteed.
USPA Volleyball strives to provide coaches who are experienced in playing and/or coaching the sport of volleyball. All USPA Volleyball head coaches have to be IMPACT and CAP certified and will focus the instruction of volleyball to match the age level being coached.
USPA Volleyball participates in various types of tournaments from one day to several days depending on the age group. They include tournaments in the ODR region, outside of the ODR region (e.g. SAVL, ACPL), AAU, nationally sanctioned qualifier or bid tournaments and possibly a junior national tournament depending on how the team is progressing through the season.
Coaches determine the schedule at the beginning of each season. Changes and/or cancellations can be made during the season due to funding, weather, player availability, etc. On average a team will play no less than 8 tournaments and as the age level increases, teams can play up to 15 tournaments (18's) in a season.
Upon acceptance to a team, a one-time lump sum fee will be charged and followed by a monthly fee to be paid by the 20th of each month. Monthly payments begin December 20th with the final payment due on June 20th.
Fees include the following:
