Training

U-TURN Sports Academy is a sports institute. Classes are full quarters in length (3 months/ 12 weeks).

Our quarter system goes as follows:

  • Fall: September to December
  • Winter: December to March
  • Spring: March to June
  • Summer: June to September

Athletes must go through a skills evaluation to determine your program level. There are 4 levels in the Football program: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Elite.

U-TURN football focuses on specific skill development at every level: Speed, agility and quickness, muscle stamina, superior core strength and explosive hips and shoulders.

Our football training regimen will change this year . We will be upgrading our practices to partial and full pad sessions. We will train on a platoon basis to maximize training time and content of lessons. Our new platoon schedule is:

  • Mon.- Wed. 6:15 - 8:15 pm 6 to 10 year olds (offense and defense)
  • Mon.- Wed. 6:45 - 9 pm 11-13 year olds (offense and defense)
  • Tues. - Thurs. 6:45 - 9 pm High school (offense and defense)

All other training will be done on a private or semi-private basis.

NEXT-LEVEL TRAINING (NLT I-II-III)
Next-Level Training is designed to provide a complete program focusing on the core aspects of athleticism and skill development. Each athlete will spend an hour on the court, an hour with Sports Science, and fifteen minutes in a devotion (in a predetermined order). In order to get to your Next-Level, we recommend that you come at least 2-3 times a week during a quarter. But as a family, you are able to choose between 1-3 times of training a week. NLT I meets on Mondays. NLT II meets on Mondays and Wednesdays. NLT III meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

SKILL TRAINING (IN-SEASON)
Skill Training (In-Season) is designed to provide individual skill development time for athletes. Athletes will spend an hour on the field targeting a specific skill or skill set.

POSITION TRAINING
Position Training is designed to provide a position specific one hour regiment, so that your athlete can own their position.

INDIVIDUAL AND SMALL GROUP TRAINING
These are private or semi-private lessons, in order to give the athlete more specific instruction or attention. (1:1 up to 1:4 ratio trainer/coach to athlete)
