TRAP (Truancy Reduction Achievement Program)
U-TURN ha partnered with the Richmond Police Department in an effort to promote self-esteem and eradicate truancy in Richmond. U-TURN has provided an opportunity for the youth in the program exposure to several different sport activities while providing positive encouragement every step of the way.
Truancy Services is a collaborative effort between the Richmond Departments of Juvenile Justice Services, Social Services, Public Schools, Police Department and the Juvenile Court to ensure youths comply with Compulsory School Attendance.
The primary goals of this service are to address the reasons for the youth absence, to reconnect students with assigned schools and additional services as needed.
