Department of Juvenile Justice
Wellness and Life Skills Youth Program
(Partner: Department of Juvenile Justice Services - Y.O.G.I. Program) During the spring of 2003, U-TURN teamed up with the Commonwealth of Virginia's Department of Juvenile Justice Services (DJJS) to positively impact kids enrolled in the Young Offenders Grant Initiative. These young kids have been before the court system but not yet formally charged with an offense. U-TURN is excited about this partnership aiming to positively impact youth who are on the fringes of life failure.
Inner-City Wellness and Life Skills Young Adult Program
(Partner: Department of Juvenile Justice Services - Richmond Drug Court) U-TURN has partnered with the Department of Juvenile Justice Services (DJJS) to provide a comprehensive and measurable results program for young adults charged with legal offenses - ranging from misdemeanors to felonies. This eight month program will provide participants the opportunity to develop and/or improve social, physical, and mental skills. The goal is to intervene in their lives with meaningful life skills and wellness modules, thus enhancing their performance in life.
